The Lower Thames Street shopping district of Newport starts a the intersection of America's Cup Avenue, and Thames Street. Lower Thames Street runs south to Webster street. The right hand (west) side of the street is the waterfront side. In years past this whole area was where boats & ships were built, fixed and docked.
