 This park has rugged sections along its network of hiking and bridle paths set upon abandoned roads, but the trails are not overly difficult. An intermediate 6-mile loop is described in this ride, but many other configurations can be created by analyzing the map and connecting the trails. This tour is technically tricky along some portions of the rocky trail, but there is enough smoother doubletrack to whisk you through and quicken the pace.
The trails are fairly level and gently roll over an interesting terrain of primitive wilderness habitat hosting a wide variety of birds and small mammals. Nature is your companion, and serenity prevails in these woods as you travel over old, eroded, and overgrown forested roads that now serve as hiking and equestrian trails. There are many sections of smooth trail, as well as a fair portion of rocky trail that will jar your teeth and keep you busy.
The trail is seldom used by mountain bikers, and perhaps it's been decades since it served as a road. Located just north of the town of Greenwich on North Street. There are minor hills to climb, but the trail follows a gently rolling terrain.
