American Identites: A New look at Brooklyn Museum

This reinstallation of the Brooklyn Museum of Art's American art holdings, one of the great American art collections in the world, includes works by such artists as Thomas Cole, John Singer Sargent, Thomas Eakins, and Georgia O'Keeffe among many others. Assyrian Relifs at the Brooklyn Museum of Art

The highlight of this exhibition is twelve monumental alabaster reliefs from the Northwest Palace of the Assyrian king Ashur-nasir-pal II (883-859 B.C.E.). The Northwest Palace was discovered by an Englishman, Henry Layar, in 1846.

More than 100 objects from the collection of European ceramics given to the Brooklyn Museum of Art by the estate of Harold S. Keller, are now on long-term view. This exhibit, the final phase of the Brooklyn Museum of Art's Egyptian Galleries reinstallation(begun in 1993), presents nearly 600 of the most important works of ancient Egyptian art in the world, some not on view since the early 20th century.

PULP ART: FROM THE COLLECTION OF R. LESSER at BMA

This exhibit presents more than 100 works, originally painted as cover illustrations for cheap magazines of "pulp" fiction.
